Telepathy is an ability that I am sure you have already experienced in some way. It is a natural phenomenon and it happens because there is truly only ONE MIND - one Intelligent Energy that permeates and expresses through everything. Each individual's mind is truly only an individualized center of consciousness of this One Mind.
It doesn't matter where the person you desire to communicate with is located because, as you have already experienced it, in your mind you can be wherever you desire to be and with whomever you desire to be. You do this by focusing on a particular person, thing or location.
It doesn't matter even whether the person you desire to communicate is speaking the same language because you are not exactly communicating words, but rather a vibration of a particular idea. The recipient's brain / neurology then translates it.
When you want to tune a radio to a particular station, so that you can hear the program which is transmitted, you turn a dial. When you want to tune your mind to another person's mind, you synchronize your energy with the other person's energy and the easiest way to do this is through LOVE.
You will synchronize your energy with another even just by hanging around the other person. This is generally called "entrainment". So, when few people live together or are in some way close to each other emotionally they will have many spontaneous telepathic experiences. They may say the same thing at the same time.
People also get in sync when they are working on the same project, so two people working on an invention in two different parts of the world who have never met each other may discover the same thing and support each other's work even though they are not consciously aware of the connection.
And people also get in sync by sharing any other thoughts, ideas or interests. In my 20's when I was exploring and practicing different spiritual traditions, I found it rather amusing that no matter where I was - if I needed help and I prayed to God according to particular spiritual tradition - people who would emerge out of nowhere to rescue me were those who were attuned to that particular religion.
Of all adventurous experienced I had in my youth - I managed to get kidnapped by my countrymen who took me to Switzerland with intention of selling me. I guess they were desperate for money and didn't have any better ideas. I, on the other hand, didn't now what else to do but pray for help and I just happened to be praying in Arabic at the time. Help promptly arrived - perhaps within half-an hour. Yap, I did get sold to a good natured, God-loving Muslim, who then bought me a ticket to return home.
There was a time when I was stranded in some place out of town and I happened to chanting Hindu mantra for help (OM Namah Shivaya)- a person who showed up to rescue me was Hindu who himself spent all day chanting the same mantra.
And another time when I was stranded at the Adriatic Coast, a God-Loving Catholic rescued me and offered me free accommodation for a week, treating me all the way through with utmost respect.
As a teenager I'd also play with telepathy when I wanted to talk with a boy I liked, but didn't want to call him myself. Back in Europe, they had a saying that a man should be the head of the family and a woman should be the neck that turns that head around. So, I'd like to leave the boy under the impression that it was his idea to call me. I'd send him a telepathic message to call me and pronto! - he'd phone. I laughed as I told him what I did. Only few days passed before I called him and he started to laugh. I asked what is so funny? He said he did the same thing I did - he just sent me a telepathic message to phone and I did.
I mentioned these stories merely to point out that telepathy is not a mysterious ability hard to develop and that you are fully capable of using it intentionally even now.
