Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you are after a particular outcome, but no matter what you do, you seem to be stuck?
It may seem that nothing is going your way, and yet you may be exactly where you are supposed to be. Perhaps the grass is not greener over there, and you're just not paying attention to something that is right in front of you. Or perhaps, the obstacle is not outside of you, but within you, and what you need to do is take a closer look deep inside of you.
Perhaps you can recall a time when you were looking for something, a tiny piece of paper with a phone number or a key. You looked everywhere and it seems that the object has vanished, and then when you stopped running around searching for it, you became aware that it was right in front of you all along - you just haven't noticed it.
Or perhaps you were rushing to get somewhere and all kinds of obstacles were blocking your path, only to discover that something better happened exactly because you couldn't make it where you thought you should go. Maybe you got an unexpected phone call with some great news offering you a job that was way better that you hoped for. Or you avoided some disaster.
Perhaps instead of getting upset when things do not seem to go your way, you may want to ponder that the universe, or that greater intelligence within you, has some important message for you, that something which is for your greater good is playing out in your life, and that it is a good time to pay attention.
When things are not going your way, instead of trying to break through a brick wall, the best thing to do may be just to become totally still and take some time to drift inside of you.
Did you know that if you found yourself lost in the middle of the forest, you could find your way out, if you became totally still, and if you allowed the light within you, your greater wisdom to guide you out of the forest.
To help people to train themselves to get into this state of mind, some esoteric schools, alike some religious places, have built labyrinths. While religious places would let people walk along those labyrinths while contemplating solutions to problems that plagued them, the esoteric schools would blindfold the spiritual aspirant, put him in the middle of the labyrinth and the only way he could come out is by totally surrendering to that inner guidance.
