The World of Dreams
Dreams states and hypnosis states are alike. While you are dreaming, you are accessing your subconscious mind. You can use dream-time both to program your subconscious mind and to access the information from your subconscious, and even from your superconscious mind.
Programming your subconscious mind while dreaming - working on goals while lucid dreaming - is particularly helpful for people who have difficulty remaining mentally alert while accessing deeper levels of the mind (e.g. theta level).
Dreams are a way of your subconscious mind to process the information and events you have experienced throughout the day. They are also a way that your subconscious mind has to bring to your awareness what you need to know, or even revealing to you the information you desire to know.
Get Answers through Dreams
Prophetic Dreaming is all about getting the answers to the problems you are confronting - through your dreams. This method is particularly helpful when you are experiencing some conscious resistance to get the answer. When this happens, you may not be able to sufficiently let go of the problem consciously, to allow the answer the emerge from your subconscious (superconscious mind).
Throughout history people have used the art of Prophetic Dreaming, sometimes spontaneously and sometimes intentionally to help them solve all sorts of challenges - relating to health issues; coming up with creative business ideas; getting an insight into relationship problems; getting tips on gambling; and any other information one could possibly want to get out of his subconscious or superconscious mind.
The art of Prophetic Dreaming has been used historically by Egyptians, Greeks and Hebrews in their temples. The process involved elaborate rituals dedicated to different Gods. While some esoteric schools still engage in different types of rituals, prophetic dreaming, as "dream incubation" has been generally reduced to asking a question (from your subconscious mind and/or any form of Higher Power that appeals to you) to which you desire an answer, before you go to sleep.
More often than not, the messages we get through the dreams present themselves wrapped in a symbolic imagery the interpretation of which may represent an additional challenge. On a side note, do make sure that you are ready and willing to get the answer to the question you ask.
